18TH-19th CENTURY INDIAN LACROSSE BURL BALL

Offered is a scarce early wooden Lacrosse burl ball with an old period 2” disc wood plug nailed with old hand forged nails. The plug was attached as a repair to the surface. The ball is 4” dia. A reference to Time-Life book series “Realm of the Iroquois” (see photos) , states an 1840 wooden ball is “the size of a grapefruit, larger than today’s hard rubber balls”. This ball came out of a shop near Roscommon, MI. Very rare. $1,500.
